The meeting was called to order at 6:15 p.m.

Ms. Salt reported that she and Mr. Traupman have reduced the artist submissions down to five possibilities. Ernesto Kunde was suggested as the artist for the Village Hall lobby in 2015. It was decided to table voting until the October meeting when all Commission members can be in attendance. At this time there are no submissions for the Village Hall north lawn.

Ms. Salt made a motion to approve the minutes of the August 13, 2013, meeting.  Motion seconded by Ms. Rojas and unanimously approved.

It was noted that there is $127 remaining in the Fine Arts 2013 budget.

It was suggested that marketing for the October 4 library reception be through Facebook, email blasts and the Village People.

In regards to a band to play at Green Day, Ms. Taddeo recommended Almost Blue with Amy Arlo who played at last year’s street fair. Ms. Ackley knows a Barry graduate who plays the saxophone who could be a street performer for $100. Ms. Salt made a motion to approve $200 to pay singer Amy Arlo for the Green Day performance. Motion seconded by Ms. Rojas and unanimously approved. Ms. Taddeo made a motion to approve $100 to pay the saxophonist with Mr. Stock’s approval of the musician. Motion seconded by Ms. Salt and unanimously approved.

Discussion turned to Dance Now. The cost to use Barry’s theater for a full day is $1500 and a half day is $800 plus the technician’s fee, which may be negotiated with Barry. Dance Now costs about $4000. It was suggested that perhaps lighting could be rented for the Community Center if the performance is moved there.

It was decided to table discussion on the 9/11 plaque until the October meeting.

Discussion turned to the January movie event. Tentative dates of January 10 or 17 were suggested as options to see if the theater has either date available. The January library reception has already been scheduled for January 31. Ms. Ackley suggested the movies High School Musical or Star Wars. Further discussion was tabled until the October meeting. It was noted that last year people enjoyed dressing up more than singing along with the movie.

The meeting adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
