is now a hurricane, though fortunately, a struggling one. The morning recon mission shows the center of the hurricane on the southwest edge of the thunderstorms, a result of the southwesterly shear that is now forcing dry air into the hurricane's core. 70+ mph winds are still possible in Bahamas though, where Hurricane Warnings are in effect.
Our area remains under a Tropical Storm Warning at this time. The Florida Peninsula should be preparing for possible tropical storm impacts. Heavy rains and winds associated with Isaias may impact south Florida late Friday night into early Saturday morning.
Miami Shores Village continues to monitor Hurricane Isaias and will provide information as it becomes available.
Please stay diligent and keep abreast of information on #Isaias as it continues on it's west/northwest track toward the Florida peninsula. Visit hurricanes.gov for more information from the National Hurricane Center.
Stay tuned and have a hurricane plan ready to go just in case!
