Building Dept launches full-service online submittals effective April 3, 2020

Dear Miami Shores Residents and Business Owners,

I hope that during these difficult times you, your family members and friends are doing well. As we continue to respond to this fluid situation due to the COVID-19 virus, the Miami Shores Village Building Department has been making daily assessments to preserve the wellbeing of our community.

The Building Department remains committed to providing quality customer service to you in keeping the permitting and inspection process available. However, we must now take additional precautions to protect the health and safety of our employees, our residents and our Village.

As a result of the recent Executive Order 20-91 issued by Governor DeSantis on April 1, 2020, the Building Department will launch a full-service online electronic submittal for permit applications and plans effective April 3, 2020. We will no longer accept walk-ins and all applications must now be done via our online portal until further notice. We have also implemented a limited inspection procedure. We highly encourage you and your contractors to take full advantage of the online system and inspection procedures to minimize exposure and at the same time expedite services.

Please visit the Miami Shores Village web site at www.msvfl.gov and follow the quick link to “forms” for applications, instructions and permit requirements before proceeding to CSS (Citizen Self Service) portal at http://bldg.msvfl.gov/energov_prod/selfservice#/home.  Do not forget to create an account to proceed!

If you have any questions or need assistance navigating through the online permit process, our staff is here to help! Staff will be accessible via phone at 305-795-2204 or via email at silveraa@msvfl.gov or alvarezs@msvfl.gov or arandas@msvfl.gov.

Stay well,

Ismael Naranjo, Building Official
