Anyone with information about a crime is asked to call police at 305-759-2468 or Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS (8477). Tips can also be submitted via the MYMSV app or online. You can remain anonymous. 

The Miami Shores Police Department in partnership with our community is committed to enhancing the safety and security of all that live, work and play in the Village by providing professional law enforcement services to everyone. The department is responsible for law enforcement activities 24 hours per day.

The Miami Shores Police Department is a community-oriented agency that works hand in hand with our residents and the business community to resolve problems that affect the community.

Neighborhood Watch Program

The Neighborhood Watch Program was started in April 1980 in conjunction with the Miami Shores Police Department. If you would like to volunteer as a "Block Captain", please contact Lieutenant David McLeod at 305-759-2468. Block Captains are the coordinator's contact for each block to facilitate the delivery of information concerning crime pattern and trends.

The Miami Shores Police Department will host Neighborhood Watch Meetings for residents to provide crime prevention tips.

Citizen Patrol Program

The Citizen Patrol was created in January of 1985 with volunteers who are the "Eyes & Ears" of the Miami Shores Police Department. Volunteers patrol the Village looking for suspicious activity and when observed report it to the Police Department. Please contact 305-759-2468 to volunteer.
