Mad Hatter Book ClubThe Mad Hatter Book Club

 

Due to high demand, the library is opening a new book club –

No themes! Just book lovers who want to meet and discuss great and fun reads!

The only requirement is that members will enter their favorite titles- new and old- to be placed in the Mad Hatter’s Hat! Titles will be randomly selected.

Meets the last Saturday of every month at 11am at the Library.

Open to all Library cardholders. Please register. Space limited to 10.

ILoveBookClub

The Brockway Reading Circle is an adult book club that meets the second Monday of every month at 6:00pm at the library.  The group reads one book each month and gathers to discuss and share their thoughts.  The club reads a variety of literature including bestselling fiction and nonfiction, including historical/cultural fiction as well as biography as a few examples.  For more information, please call Michelle Brown at 305-758-8107.  Sorry, membership is full at this time!

 

 

Travel  recipe clubThe Brockway Travel and Recipe Club is also an adult book club, open to library members, that meets the fourth Thursday every month at 6:00 pm. at the library.  The members enjoy reading about far away places and delicious dishes.  They get together monthly to go on a literary journey as they read about travel and share recipes from around the world.  For more information, please call Frances Walsh at 305-758-8107.

 

 

flower-2The Library Garden Club of Miami Shores meets on the first Saturday of the month September through May at 10am at the library - unless a field trip is scheduled off-site!  The meetings generally consist of a presentation based upon the monthly topic(s), a plant exchange, which will enable us to learn about different plants and what's growing in each member's garden, information on the "plant of the month", and sharing of gardening tips and inspiration. Registration required. An annual club membership fee of $35.00 is required at registration to support guest speakers and materials.  Please call the library for more information on how you can join! Hosted by fellow gardener, Debbie Middleton.  Library members may apply.

 

 

Needle Arts transBrockway Needle Arts Club is a club open to all library members interested in the needle arts.  The club welcomes all needle arts including knitting, crochet, embroidery, quilting, beading, sewing...  We meet every Tuesday from 1:30 to 2:30pm.  Come join us!  Bring your own project and enjoy each other's expertise and companionship.

Great Conversations Originally founded in the 30's, the Great Books discussion group was established to encourage readers to discuss the writings of the world's great thinkers.  The Brockway group is hosted by Dr. Robert Rosenblum, a long-standing member of Great Conversations.   Members meet once a month to discuss selections taken from the Great Conversations Anthology, distributed yearly by the University of Chicago. Meets on the first Monday of the month at 6:30 pm. Please call to register 305-758-8107.
