 Monthly Programs September - May

 Special events are announced on a monthly basis and may supersede our regularly scheduled programs.  Please check our monthly calendar of events.


Read with Gracie the Golden Doodle Therapy Dog! Most Monday’s from 3:30 – 5:10 PM; For all ages; Please sign up for a 20 minute segment to read to Gracie.  January 14, 28.


Tuesday Tots Tuesdays at 10am.  Simple stories and activities for ages 2+.  Learning is fun with songs, read-aloud, finger plays and more. January 8, 15, 22 and 29.


Saturday Morning Storytime Third Saturday of every month, 10 - 10:45 AM Children ages 4-7, along with their parents and caregivers ,are invited to listen to a story and do a craft.  No registration required, just come in and have a lovely library experience with your child! Next date: January 19 - "Snowmen at Night"


Puppet Theater Held the first Wednesday of every month at 4PM.

Next date: January 9 - "The Case of the Disappearing Books"

All ages welcome!  No registration required.


Village Kids' Book Club  Meets on the third Wednesday of every month from 3:30 - 4:30PM. For ages 7 - 10; Children will read and discuss great stories and develop an appreciation of books and reading with a snack!  Next date: January 16 - "Mr. Popper's Penguins"

This after school club offers kids in grades K-5 an unforgettable FUN and EDUCATIONAL experience. They interact with live animals,  become engineers, build robots, create electrical circuits, conduct science experiments, observe mineral and biology specimens with microscopes, make slime, digitally travel through space and more!

Classes are held the second Tuesday of every month from 3:30pm – 4:30pm. Class size is limited to 15.  Registration required.  All participants must have a Brockway library card. FREE!

   1000 Books BK

All kids Kindergarten through Grade 3: Do you love to read? Do you love prizes and surprises? If so, be a Reading Super Star! Join Brockway Library’s Super Star Reader 100 Club!

Brockway Library now participates in the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Program for newborns to kids entering Kindergarten.

Any child from birth until he or she enters kindergarten is invited to participate in 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten! Your first 100 books will count toward this! Prizes will be awarded after each 100 books read! It can take a few months or a few years; the program is self-paced and will depend on how often you read together. Keep track of all the titles you have read; the Library has a suggested list of books your child should hear before kindergarten. Call the Library at 305-758-8107 for more information.
