The Florida Electronic Library - A gateway to select Internet resources. You must enter your 14 digit library barcode number with no spaces in order to access this site. Get access to thousands of full text electronic magazines, journals, newspapers, almanacs, encyclopedias, books, documents, and more.

 

 

ereaderThe following are sources of free ebooks available online; they offer large collections in the U.S. public domain.  The first is Project Gutenberg which offers over 38,000 freely available titles.  Another excellent collection is The Internet Archive; The archive digitizes text, movies, music, software, and websites; its text collection includes more than three million items. The World's classic literature is also at your fingertips with Open Library. Over 1,000,000 free titles available.

Our library collection includes:

  • Over 65,000 Volumesbook stack

  • 133 Current Magazines and Newspapers
  • The latest Best Sellers

  • Daily/Weekly Newspapers including: The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal,  and The Miami Herald.

The Library has 8 public access computers for research and word processing.  Library membership with computer privileges is required.  A rate of $5.00/hr for non-members will apply.  The library offers free wireless access to all patrons and visitors.

 

The library's Archives Room contains a special collection of materials pertaining to the history of Miami Shores Village.  Please call the library for an appointment if you wish to do research in the Archives. 305-758-8107
