Greatest Showman

TEENS AND TWEENS MOVIE NIGHT AT THE LIBRARY!

 

Come join us to watch THE GREATEST SHOWMAN, an original musical inspired by the life of P.T. Barnum, starring Hugh Jackman. Barnum was a visionary who rose from nothing to create the “Greatest Show on Earth,” a celebration of his larger-than-life imagination that captivated audiences around the globe! (Fox Movies- Rated PG)

“Whittington” by Alan Armstrong

Ten-year-old Abby and eight-year-old Ben live with their grandparents, Bernie and Marion, near a dilapidated New England farm with a barn that is home to a menagerie of old, run-down animals. Just when the barn seems to have reached capacity, Whittington, a homeless cat, asks for admission.

BROCKWAY TEEN ADVISORY BOARD 

Come join Brockway Teens at their next meeting to plan and create upcoming events for the Library!  This month we'll make craft packets for the Library's youngest patrons.

Read with Gracie the Golden Doodle Therapy Dog! Every Monday from 3:30 – 5:10 PM; please sign up for a 20 minute segment to read to Gracie.  May 7, 14, and 21

 

Saturday Morning Storytime Third Saturday of every month, 10 - 10:45 AM Children ages 4-7, along with their parents and caregivers ,are invited to listen to a story and do a craft.  No registration required, just come in and have a lovely library experience with your little one!  Next date: May 19 - "Tea Rex"

 

Puppet Theater Held the first Wednesday of every month at 4PM.

Next date: September 5th

All ages welcome!  No registration required.

 

Village Kids' Book Club  Meets on the third Wednesday of every month from 3:30 - 4:30PM. For ages 7 - 10; Children will read and discuss great stories and develop an appreciation of books and reading with a snack!  Next date: May 16th - "Whittington" by Alan Armstrong.

This after school club offers kids in grades K-5 an unforgettable FUN and EDUCATIONAL experience. They interact with live animals,  become engineers, build robots, create electrical circuits, conduct science experiments, observe mineral and biology specimens with microscopes, make slime, digitally travel through space and more!

Classes are held the second Tuesday of every month from 3:30pm – 4:30pm. Class size is limited to 15.  Registration required.  All participants must have a Brockway library card. FREE!

   1000 Books BK

All kids Kindergarten through Grade 3: Do you love to read? Do you love prizes and surprises? If so, be a Reading Super Star! Join Brockway Library’s Super Star Reader 100 Club!

Brockway Library now participates in the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Program for newborns to kids entering Kindergarten.

Any child from birth until he or she enters kindergarten is invited to participate in 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten! Your first 100 books will count toward this! Prizes will be awarded after each 100 books read! It can take a few months or a few years; the program is self-paced and will depend on how often you read together. Keep track of all the titles you have read; the Library has a suggested list of books your child should hear before kindergarten.
