Village Board Application & Vacancies



If you're interested in serving on one of the Village Boards, there are currently seven (7) vacancies on the newly established Education Advisory Board. 


The mission of the Education Advisory Board shall be to explore, recommend and facilitate ways and means to pursue implementation of the activities and outcomes detailed in the Education Compact between Miami-Dade County Public Schools and Miami Shores Village. The Village Council will make reasonable effort to appoint members with backgrounds in education, grant writing, public administration or such other backgrounds or experience as deemed consistent with the mission of the Education Advisory Board. The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of Miami Shores Elementary may designate an ex-officio member to serve on the Education Advisory Board. (Please note the board application is a public record. If an exemption applies to you, please inform the Village Clerk. Also, if you're currently serving on a Village decision-making board, you are not eligible to apply.)



We appreciate your interest in serving Miami Shores Village and encourage you to apply when your board of interest has a vacancy. The Village Council appoints boardmembers to the Library Board and the Doctors Charter School Board in the month of July. The remaining board appointments are made in the month of October, with the exception of filling vacant seats due to boardmember resignation.
