  1. III.ACTION ITEMS: PUBLIC HEARING CONTINUED FROM JANUARY 24, 2012

 

 

 

  1. a.Amendment of Appendix A Zoning, of the Miami Shores Village Code of Ordinances.

 

 

 

During the regularly scheduled Council Meeting of Tuesday, September18, 2012, the Village Council requested that the Planning and Zoning Board review Appendix A Zoning, of the Code of Ordinances and recommend appropriate amendments.

 

 

 

Staff reviewed the zoning code and with planning board and village council participation has prepared an amended zoning code for referral to the planning board for their consideration at a public hearing to be held during the regular planning board meeting of December 13, 2012. The planning board shall make a written report thereof to the village council, which report shall contain the proposed amendment, and the findings and recommendations of the board.

 

 

 

David Dacquisto presented examples to Board members for review of green space and open space requirements.

 

 

 

Board members decide that Lot coverage concerns will be addressed at a later date after further discussion by board.

 

 

 

Board members review draft memo and report that will be presented to Village Council and make changes and final clarifications.

 

 

 

Board members decide to preserve the existing 15ft separation distance requirement between dwellings and accessory structures for now.

 

 

 

Board members decide to include Pools in the front yard under site plan review.

 

 

 

Motion: Motion: Forward the staff report dated February 6, along with the draft dated February 1, 2013 subject to certain revisions reflected in the staff report. Specifically remove from the changes to the draft on February 1st of the code the items discussed, specifically on page 3 the matter in red pertaining to a review by village council of any private use on public property and leave the code as currently drafted in the February 1st 2013 edition. Not change the current code in page 27 in the R District which deletes the 15ft separation that exists between resident and accessory structure. Forward with a recommendation to the Village Council that they approve the proposed code and the changes there to. The board will continue to review the code and will bring forward additional changes shortly.

 

 

 

Motion addition to include recommendation by Village manager to include all tweaks that reached consensus by tonight’s board discussion.

 

 

 

Moved by Robert Abramitis, Seconded by Victor Bruce.

 

Motion passed unanimously.
