Special Programs

Brockway Memorial Library offers many different programs, both entertaining and informative.  In the past, we've offered seminars on parenting, investments, retirement plans, and meditation.  We also host art exhibits and regular children's programs.  Area schools visit the library for instruction and a small activity room is available for meetings.  Call the library for more information.

Youth Service Department

The Library is a place for all ages.  We feel it's important to provide our young visitors with their own special services and programs.  The Youth Services Department is equipped with a puppet theater, TV/VCR, tape players, computers, children's books, tapes and more.  Programs include:
"Storytime Fun " every Tuesday at 3:30pm (ages 3-5)
"Puppet Theater" the first Wednesday of each month at 3:30pm

Additionally, monthly and holiday programs are announced throughout the year.  Children's programs include book and poetry readings, movies, filmstrips, arts and crafts and other activities that motivate reading.

American Girls Club and Time Travelers Group meet once a month; for students 7 and older.

The Annual Florida Library Youth Program is a high point of summer activity at the Library.  All ages participate in this popular program which emphasizes maintaining reading skills throughout the summer.

A special effort is made to provide Young Adults with books and materials to fulfill their interests.  The Young Adult collection provides books and magazines especially for teenagers.  Programs provided for Young Adults include:

  • Young Adult Library Advisory Board.
  • Daily homework assistance.
  • Reference and research service.
  • Reader's advisory service.
  • Library instruction.
  • Library volunteer programs.
