Mr. Richard Derr, Vice President of Tetra Tech WMS provided an overview on the Firm’s traffic calming proposal, including information on similar work projects, examples of the services to be provided and possible outcomes from the policy development procedure.  Mr. Derr responded to questions from the Council regarding areas covered in his presentation.

At the conclusion of Mr. Derr’s presentation and discussion regarding traffic calming, Mayor McCoy called a five minute recess at 8:55 PM and the Workshop was reconvened at 9:00 PM.

COUNCIL DISCUSSION ITEM

Council Members requested an update on the Staff Reports regarding annexing the areas north and west of Barry University and the 103rd Street corridor.  Mr. Benton advised that he was waiting for clarification on the tax roll information which does not appear to be reported correctly.   Following a brief discussion regarding how the Council can best evaluate the information contained in the reports once they are complete, it was the consensus of the Council to conduct an additional workshop on annexation issues for the second meeting in March.   Mayor McCoy reiterated that the workshop was conditional upon the information being completed and dependent upon staff’s readiness to move forward.
